Perfect location, the outside terrace is a real added bonus with beautiful views across lynmouth bay. The Cliff railway runs right next to the hotel which is powered by water. The hotel is very clean, room was comfortable and decorated to reflect the traditional style. We had 2 seaviews you can have a shower looking at the view 😁 Lounge and dining areas are also nice. We walked to Valley of the rocks to see the sunset after a lovely home cooked dinner. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, The honesty bar is a bonus if you fancy a drink or snacks without leaving the hotel. Once you arrive you can park up and walk between the village's large car park nearby if staying longer once checked out. Both villages have shops cafés bars and lots of ice creams. Took the 2 mile walk to Watersmeet which is hilly and uneven under foot so wear good trainers/walking boots. Worth the walk. National trust cafe has a few homemade cakes, snacks and drinks. Dog friendly.

Their warm hospitality and local knowledge added a truly personal touch to our visit. The hotel itself is charming and full of character, with breathtaking views over the cliffs and sea. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection and attentive service that made our morning a pleasure. What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the genuine care and friendliness of the hosts. They clearly love what they do, and it shines through in every aspect of the experience. We can't wait to return—thank you for such a wonderful stay!

The hotel itself is a stunning old building perfectly located for experiencing the cliff railway, a gentle stroll into Lynton village, or an exhilarating ramble down to Lynmouth. Room 11 had everything we needed, including a smart TV, fast WiFi, a comfortable double bed, tea, coffee, biscuits, and a spotlessly clean bathroom with modern fixtures. The room's best feature was the stunning sea views from both the bedroom and bathroom. Although we didn't have an evening meal at the hotel, we did enjoy a fabulous breakfast before checkout. Massive thanks to entire team! We'll definitely be staying with you again next time we find ourselves in the area!

Located right on the cliff edge the hotel is in an Ideal location! We had a dual aspect king room with sea views, and it was beautiful! (And bargain price!) The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and well-kept, staff were lovely and the breakfast was great! We loved the ‘trust bar’ where you can just write your order down and grab your drinks! It has such a lovely village feel (We used to have a trust box for eggs in our village, but people kept stealing them and the money) so it’s refreshing to know that there are still nice places around :) Also there is soooo much to do around Lynton and Lynmouth, highly recommend the valley of the rocks walk and the river trail!

Well staying in the North Cliff Hotel exceeded my expectations, the views were wonderful, and we were there on a wet February day, it was just so dramatic I could have sat and looked at the view all day, especially as inside was so cosy and warm. The team were lovely, and we got the chance to look at the penthouse room ( which we are hoping to come back and visit) and finally the breakfast and breakfast room were a great way to top it all off, very attentive and friendly service, lovely food and once again a fantastic view. What more can you ask for. Thank you for our stay, we hope to return soon!
